The Avenues is a gorgeous and charming neighborhood in downtown Salt Lake City. Emily and Ryan opted for another early-morning session to take advantage of that crisp morning light. I felt that this location suited Emily and Ryan perfectly. We even made a new furry friend (who jumped on my back out of nowhere). It made for a funny and memorable excursion. Be sure to check out Part 1 of Emily and Ryan’s engagements if you haven’t already.
Emily and Ryan have an effortless camera presence. When they contacted me to be their photographer, I was thrilled! We’d originally planned to do the early-morning engagement session in downtown Salt Lake City’s Avenues, but we changed it the night before due to a chance of rain. Well, it didn’t rain, but we had a really fun time exploring J&J Nursery and Garden Center’s many greenhouses. And because why not, we made a trip to the Avenues the following week for a mini session to get those downtown vibe shots they wanted, so be sure to check out Part 2.
Oh, and be sure to check out Emily’s Instagram feed. She’s a talented photographer. Over 40,000 followers can’t be wrong.
Emily asked if I could take some film shots, so I brought along my Olympus XA2 and shot a couple rolls of Fuji color and b&w film. This was my first time brining a film camera to photo session, and I would definitely do it again!
